Two Unlucky Victims of Lightning

Today we will tell you the true story of two people who are called by names like Electric Factory, Human Rod.

The reason behind their nickname is very interesting.

 Lightning

There is hardly a normal person who has not heard this name. There are some people who have seen its devastation with their own eyes.

It is said that if a person lives in the same year and lightning strikes ten thousand times during that time, there is a one percent chance that it will fall on a person.

But the two people you will read about today were struck by lightning seven and four times, respectively, and survived each time.

 1. Roy Sullivan

Roy Sullivan worked in Shenandoah National Park, Virginia, USA. Between 1942 and 1977, he was struck by lightning on seven different occasions, but miraculously survived each time.

Roy is also listed in the World Guinness Book of World Records as "the man who suffered the most lightning strikes in the world."

Despite being struck by lightning seven times, the man ended his life on his own.

 Seven Strikes

Roy was first struck by lightning while on duty in the park. The accident affected Roy's shin and leg. Roy felt it was the worst day of his life, but then Little did he know that this was just the beginning.

Twenty-seven years later, in July 1969, Sullivan was on duty again, this time driving a truck on a mountain road. This time lightning came in through the open window of the truck. Roy's hair caught fire and his eyebrows were also burnt. Roy himself fainted, but fortunately the truck stopped and stopped on the side of the road.

In July 1970, a third lightning struck Roy while he was standing in his garden. The lightning first fell on a nearby transformer and then came towards Rai.

These incidents happened to him for the fourth and fifth time while on duty.

The fourth time this happened to him in 1972 and the fifth time in 1973.

After fifth time that this incident had happened with Roy, he said

"I was a very strong-willed and fearless person, but now my heart begins to tremble when I hear the thunder of the clouds."

The next attack took place on June 5, 1976. According to reports, Roy saw a cloud chasing him that day. He tried to flee but could not escape.

The last and seventh lightning strike struck him on June 25, 1977, while he was fishing in a pond. This time the attack not only burned his hair, but also injured his chest and abdomen.

Roy Sullivan was both lucky and unlucky.

Luckily, he survived seven lightning strikes, but unfortunately, on September 28, 1983, he shot himself for failing in love. The work that lightning could not do in seven times, he did in one go with the bullet of a gun.

 2. Walter Summerford

The other unfortunate person in history was Walter Summerford, a resident of Britain. He was an officer in the army. The first incident with Walter Summerf took place in 1918, when he was stationed Belgium during World War II. One day he was going somewhere on horseback when lightning struck him. He escaped death but The whole body below his waist was paralyzed.

Although he recovered within a few months and began walking, the army forced him to retire early.

Walter moved to Vancouver, where he began his career from scratch, but still had more accidents.

 The accident happened in 1924.

One day he went fishing in a nearby river. After fishing for a while, he sat down under a tree to relax. The sky was clear. Suddenly there was a thunderclap. This time the right side of Walter's body was hit. However, he miraculously survived once again. It took him almost two years to recover.

Exactly six years after the second incident, the same thing happened to Walter Summerford in 1930. He was walking in a park and enjoying the beautiful scenery. Then suddenly the weather turned bad and dark clouds covered the blue sky. Walter looked around for shelter, but before he could do so he was attacked again. This time his whole body was paralyzed. He fought to the death for two years, but lost his life in 1932.

After Walter's death, his family buried him in Vancouver Cemetery. Apparently Walter's story was over. People were slowly forgetting that an accident in 1936 once again drew everyone's attention to Walter. Even after Walter's death, lightning did not stop chasing him, and exactly six years later lightning came to visit his grave. The stone inscription on his grave was broken and his pictures are still available on the internet.

Even more interesting than the lightning that struck Walter was that it happened every six years.

The first occurred in 1918, the second in 1924, the third in 1930 and the last in 1936 after his death.

What was the secret behind it! It was never known. But such accidents have made Walter one of the most "unfortunate" people in history.

Some people consider it a myth while some consider it a fact.

According to reports, lightning strikes more oak trees than ordinary trees, so was there anything unusual in Walter's body?

Or was there some special kind of attraction in Walter's body!

Is there any scientific reason why Walter Summerford and Roy Sullivan were struck multiple times (4 and 7 respectively) by lightning?

There has to be unless they tend to frequent places where the ground has higher conductivity and they were struck there.

Perhaps, their body has lower electrical resistance and offers a lower resistivity path than the surrounding atmospheric air.

I am assuming that their clothing or other instruments they carry are all normal.
