Death Of A Beauty Queen

JonBenét Patricia Ramsey born August 6, 1990, was an American child beauty queen who was murdered at the age of six in her family's residence in Boulder, Colorado. A lengthy handwritten ransom note was discovered in the house. Her father, John, discovered the girl's corpse in the cellar of their house about seven hours after she had been reported missing. She sustained a damaged skull from a blow to the head and had been strangled; a garrote was discussed tied around her neck. The postmortem report stated that the official reason for death was "asphyxia by strangulation linked with craniocerebral trauma". Her death was judged a homicide. The case generated national public and media attention, in part because her mother Patsy Ramsey (herself a past beauty queen) had entered JonBenét into a series of child beauty ceremonies. The case is still unsolved and continues an open inquiry with the Boulder Police Department.

6-year-old JonBenet Ramsey was murdered by strangulation using a garrote. Her body was found in the house basement after her mother fumbled across a ransom note threatening to have JonBenet murdered if the parents did not pay a large amount of money in dollars.

Jonbenet had drastic wounds to the head and an indication of a sexual attack was uncovered allegedly. Whoever the murderer was, he was a knowledgeable figure to the family (if not a family member)

The sexual attack was ruled out by the medical examiner as the DNA found was from somebody of Asian origin in the factory where her underwear was packed in India.

Retired officer Lou Smit performed an independent inquiry and assumed that Jonbenet was murdered by an intruder and this enabled to alleviate the pressure on the family. The parents became the main suspects in the case until 2007 when they were acquitted by DNA evidence and the case ran cold. Various suspects were interviewed and the detectives were pushed to the limit. To this day, the murderer has never been found. Of late, the emphasis has been directed at his elder brother Burke Ramsey who was 9 in 1996, and inquiry about him is relatively superficial. Many readers speculate the family wrapped it up that otherwise Jonbenet was murdered by an insider.
