Perfect Plan of Jennifer Pan

A girl hiring murderers to murder her mother and father as a way of “revenge”.

She is Jennifer Pan.

Jennifer was born to Vietnamese parents, along with her brother Felix. Their parents, Bich and Hann, entered Canada as refugees in 1979. Both Bich and Hann had permanent jobs, and they saved sufficient money to buy a large house.

Their final intention and goal were that their children would work hard. Now, they made Jennifer enroll in piano classes at age of just 4-years, put her in figure skating that nearly led to her competing in the Winter Olympics, and she had shelves of medals. It’s remarkable! But not in Jennifer’s opinion. She had an active, heated schedule and would come home late, completing her homework till midnight, and then go to bed.

Not actually that, Jennifer was also wanted to receive the valedictorian at 8th grade with tons of trophies for her successes. But she earned none. Why? Because she understood that there was no point in obtaining those when no one understood her endeavors and performances. From then on, she started to be non-expressive and pretended that everything was “fine”. And the serious pressure on her led her to begin cutting herself.

Also, Jennifer kinda fell apart. She failed to earn first place at the skating tournaments, she questioned her skills and attempted to hide the destruction from her parents, not wanting to dishearten them. Yet, in Grade 9, Jennifer averaged the 70s in all of her classes and shortly, she began creating her report cards with straight A’s.

This is when Jennifer comes together with Daniel Wong in Grade 11. They had a platonic friendship until he protected her from an asthma attack, directing them to begin dating without her parents knowing.

Jennifer received mostly B grades, which was strict in her household. So she began again to create her report cards throughout high school until she failed calculus in her last year and was, unfortunately, unable to graduate. She lied to her parents and told them that she was going to follow Ryerson and after two years of science, she was going to switch and major in pharmacology program, which was her father’s wish. She continued to create papers when it came to tuition.

After two years of “attending” Ryerson, it was time for her to switch, as her father very much like so. Her parents were excited!

After another two years of U of T, Jennifer and Daniel paid someone to create a copy transcript, full of A’s. So practically, throughout high school and almost college, she’s been making her grades and her academics.

Jennifer said her parents that she was joining SickKids and would expect her to late-night shifts. This is when her father discovered that something was strange; there was, whatsoever, no clothing or key card from SickKids, which is why he had decided to drop her off the following day. And imagine what? They caught her.

Hann and Bich confessed it to her and Jennifer confessed it. Confess that she never been to college, never graduated high school, and has been staying over at Daniel’s. This shocked Hann and Bich. Jennifer was nearly kicked out of her house but her mother requested her father not to. They took away her cellphone, her laptop for two weeks, and were only let to use them in her parent's presence. Finally, Jennifer gained some independence and got her last high school credit.

Now, this is where it gets fascinating. Jennifer kept in touch with one of her friends from elementary, Andrew Montemayor, and told him about her brutal relationship with her dad, in which Andrew reacted by saying how he had once considered murdering his father. This idea excited her and believed how good her life would be with her father's death.

Daniel and Jennifer were back together and they came to a scheme that they would hire a killer on Bich and Hann, collect the property, her part which totaled about $500,00, and lives together.

On the night of the assault, Jennifer said goodnight to her mother, Bich, while Hann was down the hall reading newspaper. Jennifer opened the front door and turned on the light upstairs, as an indication to the guys.

3 men arrived through the front door, all armed with guns. One was pointed at Bich, and the other shoved at Hann’s face. Meanwhile, upstairs Jennifer instructed one of the guys where the money was and handed him $2,500 in cash. She also had her arms tied. The other men led Hann and Bich to the cellar, shooting Hann twice, once in the shoulder, and the other in the face, while they shot Bich three times in the head.

Bich died, while Hann was in a serious condition. He had a broken bone near his eye, shot fragments remained in his face that was unable to eliminate. What shocked and pained me is that anyone would go this far to murdering their parents simply because of strict raising. I do believe her parents were at mistake too, leading her to this severe pressure but what Jennifer did was unacceptable. She composed her whole life, only to have her phone and laptop confiscated for only 2 weeks, I don’t know if you can consider this as a penalty. All her parents liked was for her to do her best and that’s something EVERY parent wants their kid to do. Ending someone’s life isn’t an answer, particularly to your parents, when they are the ones that bought you into the world and lifted you.

Jennifer currently is 34 years old, and she has been life-sentenced since 2010.
