The Unsolved Murders of Abby Williams and Libby German: The Delphi Murders 

The town of Delphi, Indiana was a very tight-knit population with the graduating class frequently including less than 100 students. It was frequently considered as a farming population that was so stable, inhabitants frequently left their doors opened at night. On February 13, 2017, the kids of Delphi were having a three day weekend and were enjoying their Monday off. 13-year-old Abigail Williams and 14-year-Old Liberty German decided to go to the regional Monon High Bridge path to take pictures and take in the gorgeous scenery. They were only thought to be there for a couple of hours and when the girls missed their pick up time with Liberty’s father, a search was instantly put into place and volunteers from all over the region joined in the action to discover the missing girls. The following day on February 14, 2017, the corpses of Abby and Libby were discovered approximately half a mile from Monon High Bridge and administrations shortly ruled it as a double homicide. Administrations were stunned to find that Libby had managed to catch various photos, videos, and audio recordings of their presumed attacker; it was apparent that Libby was familiar with her inevitable fate and she intended to assist catch her attacker. 

On the day of their killings, Libby and Abby woke up and ate breakfast before painting together. They both wished to do something to enjoy their day off and Libby said her older sister to drop them off at Monon High Bridge route before she left for work. At approximately 1:35 p.m. the girls were dropped off and we're presumed to meet Libby’s father at 4:00 p.m. to be picked up. At 2:07 p.m. Libby uploaded a video of Abby on the bridge before recording a video of a stranger walking towards them in the same area. Amongst the photos and videos of the girls celebrating their day were recordings that soon turned sinister. 

There was a video on Libby’s mobile of the girls chatting about a man who was following them and appeared wretched. Soon after, Libby recorded an audio file of a man saying “guys... down the hill.” Police think this recording to be of their murderer and main suspect. 

Eyewitnesses gave authorities a blended sketch of who they thought to be their main suspect. When this composite sketch was published, administrations caught Daniel Nations, a registered sex culprit in Indiana. He was caught terrorizing people with a hatchet on Colorado routes. Nonetheless, administrations later disclosed a statement that they no longer supposed him a suspect in the killings. Charles Elridge was later caught due to his incredible similarity to the police composite but was finally cleared of any suspicion. 

Authorities later altered the composite completely to one of a much younger man who they contended is now their main suspect. They anticipate him to be between the ages of twenty and thirty years old and think that he either lives in Delphi, works there, or passes through it regularly. In a recent interview, administrations are listened saying that they think they have already quizzed him or somebody close to him and that they are closing in on him; they have a belief that their murderer will be discovered. 

The prize for any data leading to the arrest of Abby and Libby’s murderer is now placed at $200,000. The families of Abby and Libby plan on constructing a memorial park in their remembrance that comprises three softball fields and a memorial route with the names of victims of crime.
