STOLEN FROM HER BED...

On April 2, 1986, family members awoke around 6:30 am and found the backdoor of their mobile house trailer door open in Big Sandy, Texas.

They frantically searched for 5-year old Ara Johnson, but couldn't discover her or the orange sheet she slept under, and they phoned the police.

Police thought that Ara was abducted between 1 am and 2 am, but there were no signs of a break-in.

No one heard or noticed anything.

Nine months before Ara disappeared, her 6-year old brother accidentally drowned.

Her parents were given polygraphs and were immediately cleared in Ara's abduction.

The parents lost TWO children in just one year.

David Penton, a serial killer became a person of interest in Ara's case in 2007. This serial murderer is allegedly responsible for the murders of 2-year old Amber Crum in 1983, his 2-month old son in 1984, 11-year old Angelica Gandara in 1985, his friend's 9-year old niece, and Ara Johnson.

He was caught in 1987 and convicted of the friend's niece's killing. David reportedly confessed to fellow inmates about the killings and signed a plea deal confessing to the killings of the other three little girls.

Accept it or not, he is eligible for parole in 2027.

Ara has never been discovered.

Ara was 3 feet and weighed 39 pounds when she disappeared.
