Disappearance Of Marcia

Marcia Ann Ryan resided in Seaford, Victoria, Australia, and worked at her uncle’s vehicle company, W. Thomson & Son.

The 33-year-old had a close friendship with her dog, Ziggy, who was about 10-years-old.

On August 19, 1996, Marcia left the job early at 12:30 PM, declaring she wasn’t feeling good. This struck her friends as odd because Marcia had only missed a job once in a decade and it was for surgery.

Marcia’s parents were on their yearly holiday in Queensland at the moment. Marcia phoned them at 10:45 PM to say them she was going to visit them. Along with Ziggy, she packed her car and went for an outing that would have taken her over 24 hours.

She withdrew $50 from a bank machine and at one point discussed with her dad on the phone. She said to him the motive she liked to spend time with them was that she wanted a break. It is different where she made this call, but it was not from her home.۔

The next morning, at 2:48 AM, a police officer on patrol duty discovered Marcia’s abandoned car along the Princes Highway near Moe. The car was placed in a risky spot and was low on petrol. There was a petrol station available, still.

Marcia was last noticed the night before at 11:40 PM by a truck driver. She was stepping along the highway, about a mile away from her car, when a driver offered her a ride as she appeared to be under stress. Marcia asked him to leave her alone. The driver did not see Ziggy.

Marcia’s wallet was later discovered by a driver on a median strip about 12 miles from where her car had been discovered. Nothing was missing and her brother Tony Ryan thinks it was thrown out of a moving car. Her brother has not stayed looking for Marcia.

Despite a widespread search of the region, no clue of Marcia or Ziggy was found.
