The Summary: Lim Show Rong (7yo), a primary school student from Poi Ching Primary (Singapore), was believed to be raped and strangled to death. She was found with bloody panties in the bushes near a sewerage tank near Jalan Woodbridge (now the Institute of Mental Health), in a semi-sitting position.

Details: On 24 June 1995, Show Rong told her mother, Ang Goon Lay, that she was going to see 'papa's friend' and ran off before Madam Ang could say anything. Madam Ang was busy working at the coffee shop, which used to be owned by her husband. She told that when she tried to tell Show Rong not to go, her daughter was already gone when she turned around. It was the last time Madam Ang saw her daughter alive.

After spending the whole night looking for Show Rong, Madam Ang called the police. She found a piece of paper torn from a cigarette carton in Show Rong's waist pouch, which wrote a pager number and a single Chinese character 'di', meaning younger brother. Madam Ang did not know the pager number. On her bedroom wall, Show Rong had written '24th June 1994', but Madam Ang didn't understand the words as she couldn't read English.

Madam Ang said that her daughter usually left the stall to play in the neighboring playground or buy sweets from a nearby provision shop.

After Show Rong's beat-up body was found by a youth playing football, 8km away from her house, Madam Ang went to recognize her body and saw finger imprints around her neck and blood on her mouth. Police inquiries showed that Show Rong had been assaulted and strangled. There is a police sketch of the killer but he is still at large.

After Show Rong's death, Madam Ang told The New Paper (one of Singapore's newspaper companies) that she had seen a doubtful customer of her coffee shop hanging around on many events when her husband is not around. He usually came by around 8 pm to 11 pm, order a coffee, and sat for about half an hour. The customer only talked to Show Rong, and some eyewitnesses said they saw him buying sweets for Show Rong.

The customer was a dark and stout Chinese man of 1.65m height and did not wear glasses. He was aged between 30 and 40 years old, had a medium build, and was dressed usually in a polo t-shirt and shorts. The customer was told to have frequent blocks 59, 61, 64, and 75 Toa Payoh Lorong 5 (southeast of Singapore).

Today, Show Rong's younger sister, Jia Hui, now 27, is trying to find her sister's killer so her mother can finally find closure after nearly 26 years.

Questions:

The question we all want to know: who is 'papa's friend'?

Why did Show Rong write '24 June 1994' when she went to meet the killer on 24 June 1995?

Why did the killer write a pager number and the Chinese character for 'younger brother'?

Singapore is a small country, yet the suspect is still at large. What do you readers think the suspect is doing now?
