Jung In, a 16-Months old baby girl was brutally abused and tortured by her adoptive parents for 271 days (8 months) and was murdered by the evil monsters on October 13, 2020.

Jung In was a cute, lovely, sweet baby girl always smiling. She was born healthy and abandoned by her biological mother at a church after being born in South Korea. She was sent to the foster home when she was 8 days old and she had a very happy loving 8 months living at the foster home and has been taken good care of by her temporary foster mom until she was 8 months old. According to the foster mom, Jung In was a happy baby who loves music and always smiles until she was adopted in Feb 2020 by her adoptive parents, Hayeong Jang and Seongeun An, who have decent jobs and a daughter at 4 years old with qualified adoptive conditions. But this was just the start of the 271 days of horrific abuse, torture, and the nightmare of Jung In.

Jung In was dead on October 13, 2020, when she was 16 months old. She was sent to the emergency room by the adoptive mother using a Taxi even when she had no breath already. After many rounds of rescue, Jung In died. The doctor took a CT scan for her and was shocked to see that her abdomen was full of blood (80%); there are 9 multiple bone fractures in the collarbone, ribs, arms, and legs, some of the bones were broken again after self-healing 2-4 months ago; so many bruises on her faces, necks, ears, legs; all of these facts leads to a very obvious conclusion: Jung In has been suffered from continuous severe abuse and violence long before the day she died.

After the postmortem, the cause of death is clear: amputation of the pancreas and trauma damage of her internal organs like intestines rupture, which caused by heavy external forces will result in the worst kind of pain that she couldn’t even cry according to the forensic doctor. And the autopsy showed Jung In had been suffered this kind of pain for a couple of days before her death. She was extremely weak and couldn’t drink, eat and stand the day before she died, according to her daycare teacher. The teacher asked the parents to take Jung In to the hospital, which didn’t. And the second day, Jung In died at home. The police arrested the adoptive mother for child abuse to death. The adoptive father was bailed though.

With the progress of the inquiry, more proof of continuous severe abuse was found out. The most outrageous part was that there could have been three opportunities to save Jung In’s life, but all of the reports were missed or ignored either by the police or by the foster institution.

1. May 25, 2020, the teachers from Day Care found multiple bruises and scars on Jung In’s face, ears and legs. So they suspect Jung In under abuse and reported to the police. The police and the child protection institution arrived at the daycare center and start to investigate. This first opportunity was missed by police saying that they couldn't conclude abuse unless the child has fractures and open scars. The adoptive mother was very angry after this report and even filed a complaint against the daycare teachers.

2. On June 29, 2020, a passerby who saw that Jung In was left alone in the car for over an hour on a hot summer day so she reported to the police and the child protection institution. But no one investigated until one month later and the video from the street has been erased, leaving the reporting no evidence.

3. Sept 23, 2020, after being absent from daycare for two months, Jung came back and shocked every teacher. She was healthy from birth and growing fast before then. But she came back as a completely different kid by losing 2 pounds in 2 months. The teacher quickly took her to the hospital and after the examination, the pediatrician reported to the police that Jung is under malnutrition and strongly asked them to separate Jung In and her adoptive parents. But Jung In was sent home again. The police and the child protection institution took Jung Into another hospital where the adoptive mother visited regularly and the doctors there falsely intentionally diagnosed Jung In as mouth infection. The foster institution tried to contact the adoptive parents around 80 times, but most of them were by telephone and had no responses. In the end, the investigation stopped and the police conclude that no apparent abuse was found. 20 days later, Jung In died at the age of 16 months old.

Besides these 3 reports, a lot of detailed information of perpetual abuse showed by neighbors, friends, surveillance cameras in the elevator and apartment where they lived.

1. They starved Jung In because “they don’t like the smell of her poop” and gave her expired canned foods. They knowingly served the food very hot right after taking it out from the microwave. That’s why Jung Ingot blisters and wounds in her month.

2. Slapped her, beat her under her arms, and tore her mouth when she was crying.

3. Left her alone at home for over 3 hours for 15 days during the 2 months absent from daycare.

4. Shot her forehead with a BB bomb gun.

5. Carried her with the arms around her neck and put her sit on the handrail by herself in the elevator.

6. Overturned her stroller to scare her when she was crying.

7. Deliberately tripped her while she was walking and laughed loudly.

8. Left her alone alongside the swimming pool for a whole day without a guardian.

9. Continuously beat her and leave her alone in a dark room.

So what happened on the day of her death?

On Oct 12, 2020, Jung In was sent to daycare very weakly. She couldn’t walk, stand, drink and eat. Her belly was really big. But she didn’t cry at all. The teacher called the adoptive mother and she checked in for a few minutes and left saying nothing to worry about. Jung In lied down for a whole day. When the adoptive father picked her up in the afternoon and was told Jung In was a really bad condition. He even forced Jung In to take a few walks, trying to approve that she was ok. The teachers asked the father to take her to the hospital but he didn’t.

The next day, which is Oct 13, 2020. The adoptive mother called the daycare saying Jung In will not go to the daycare. Around 9:40 am, the neighbors heard some big noise from upstairs and felt like something really heavy hit on the ground several times. After 10:58 am, the adoptive mother sent her big daughter to the daycare and returned home. Then she called a taxi to bring Jung into the hospital. The taxi driver worried for Jung In and asked the adoptive mother to call the ambulance but she refused. And then everyone knows the ending. Jung In died. Based on the test run by the Korea SBS TV, Jung In was hit by external forces like a grown-up woman jumped in her belly from the couch. And based on the autopsy, she experienced brutal torture several days before and on her death. She even couldn’t cry because the cry brings her more severe pain that she couldn’t bear.

This is so horrific and we feel heartbroken for Jung In to suffer 271 days of horrible abuse and torture until her little body couldn't bear more pain! She died only at 16 months old and her life was not supposed to be this short. We couldn’t imagine how painful she was and how desperate she was when she experienced this. And she will never understand why her mom beat her to death!!! Even more, there could be so many times that the police and system have chances to save her and keep her safe but they never did!!!! The adoptive father is even bailed out from jail and the adoptive mother is still waiting for the second judge on 03/03/2021. Both of the evils still refused to plead guilty after all this evidence!!

Thousands of moms cried for Jung In after knowing her stories. We couldn’t do anything to save her life and bring her back. But we could do something to memorize her and let her change the world. Therefore, we sincerely asked you to learn more about this case and help to raise international awareness! The justice has not been served and Jung In needs it as well as so many other children under abuse in the world!

Every child deserves a safe and loving environment to grow up in.

Stop Child Abuse!!!
