This is Ana di Pištonja famously known as Baba Anujka.

She loved chemistry so she learned it after her husband's death and somewhat became an amateur in potion making.

In the late 19th century in a small village in Yugoslavia, it all started when a few young women approached Baba Anujka for her help.

The ladies wanted their husbands to stay back at home and don't go to wars. Baba Anujka made them potions that would make the husbands sick and they would escape from the military services.

She got real famous doing this. A bunch of girls came to her with an unusual request, asking her if she could kill their husbands as they were abusive and they don't want to live with them anymore.

She agreed to it and started selling poison potions to any women who paid for them. The potion was so effective that it would kill the husbands after about 8 days of drinking it. She named the potion "magic water".

She used to ask the girls, "how heavy is the problem?" which was a code for how heavy is your husband so that she put the right amount of venom in the potions.

She got so good at doing this that she hired sales assistants to go to neighboring towns in search of people with marital problems.

She would never have gotten caught if it wasn't for the mistake of one of her clients.

This woman killed her husband first and then killed her husband's rich uncle for money. The police got suspicious and interrogated her. She spilled it all away and Baba Anujka got arrested

It was believed that she was the reason for the death of at least 50 - 150 husbands and was sentenced to 15 years in prison.

Anujka was sentenced to 15 years in prison for her role in the two murders. She was released after serving eight years on compassionate grounds. She died in 1938 in her home in Vladimirovac at the age of 100.
