Almost a decade after her disappearance, the Calera police have officially reopened the case of Julie Danielle Ray, who went missing during the Christmas season in 2015. The police are now appealing to the public to come forward with any information that might help solve the case.

Julie Ray was last seen in the Calera area on December 24, 2015. Her last known contact was on Christmas Day, after which she appeared to vanish into thin air.

Police Feel Case Has Not Received Proper Attention

According to Calera Police Chief David Hyche, the police force is now tackling the case with even more fervor. He added that missing persons cases should also be treated with the same dedication as cases involving immediate family members.

“We want to investigate this case and every other case just like it was a family member,”

Hyche said, adding that he believes Julie Ray’s disappearance was not given the level of attention it deserved at the time.

Family Still Searching for Answers After 10 Years

For the family of Julie Ray, the lack of answers has been very painful. Her father, Richard Bradshaw, talked about the pain of not knowing where his daughter is or what has happened to her all these years.

“This is something very hard to live with,”

Bradshaw said.

“Not knowing what happened or where she is for ten years.”

However, despite the passage of time, the family still holds on to hope that perhaps somewhere, somehow, there is information that could shed light on the matter.

New Technology Brings Fresh Leads

As stated by Detective Jacob Reach of the Calera Police Department,

“Advances in technology have created new leads that were not possible when the initial investigation was conducted. New technology, such as facial recognition software, is now being employed to try to determine if Julie Ray may have moved to another area of the country.”

These developments have assisted in unearthing possible leads that had not been considered before, and this has led the authorities to take a fresh look at the case.

Obstacles Remain, but Hope Persists

One of the biggest problems for researchers is that the last known person who thought they saw Julie Ray is now deceased. Still, the police and family are hopeful.

Bradshaw has described the re-opening of the case as very significant, as he has been praying for progress for all these years.

“It feels like an answered prayer,”

he said, remembering the countless times he had hoped that someone would finally find the truth.

Reward Offered for Information

In an effort to promote new tips, Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to the whereabouts of Julie Ray. Law enforcement officials are encouraging anyone who may have information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, to come forward.

Persons with information are encouraged to call Crime Stoppers or the Calera Police Department.
