His mother had sent him to buy ice cream for himself and his brother from the regional shops. After sending his brother home, he strolled to a friend’s house and scheduled to spend the afternoon playing at the Curtin tip. Allen decided to wait outside his friend’s home but after a brief period left the region.

The following day Allen’s body was discovered among shafts next to a creek bed in the area of Dry and Service Streets, Curtin.

Police think his body was moved to the locale after he was killed.

His hands and feet had been bound, and he had been bandaged in carpet, and a green and white floral dressing gown. He perished of asphyxiation (strangulation).

The dressing gown was later recognized as belonging to a resident which had been left along with other garbage in a nearby builders' dump.

In November 2003 detectives interviewed various people in Queensland about Allen’s demise. In December 2003 detectives nominated a man as a suspect but were incapable to ascertain a link between him and Allen’s murder.

In October 2004 detectives launched a plea to renew contact with two people whom investigators are assured have information about Allen’s killing.
