The case is the strange case of the Disappearance of Ruth Wilson, a 16-year-old British schoolgirl from Surrey, England. She disappeared on the 27th of November, 1995. Her status is currently: Missing for 26 years.

Ruth's biological mother, Nesta Wilson, died in awful conditions when Ruth was a toddler and her sister, Jenny, was a few months old. Ruth grew up be known that her mum died due to an accidental fall down the stairs. Though, according to Wikipedia, one month before her disappearance, Ruth believed that her biological mother’s death was not as she had been informed. So she went to London to examine the death certificate, which noted the true reason for death was suicide by hanging. Her family was unaware of her discovery before she disappeared. (Her father, and stepmother)

Ben Anderton, a school friend of Ruth, tells she ran away from residence a month before her last disappearance and hid in his room, he said that she was not happy at home and wished to escape. Another school friend, Catherine Mair, declared that Wilson had discussed always running away but not suicide. But Ruth's parents have rejected the statements that her home life was sad.

On the day she vanished, she was expected to catch the bus to her sixth form with her sister (Jenny), Still, Jenny told that Ruth changed her mind at the last minute and declared that she wasn't going to ride with her on the bus. This wasn't out of the normal for Jenny as she told that her sister often didn't attend school. Around lunchtime, Ruth ordered flowers for her stepmother at a Florist, the flowers were described by her dad as expensive. There was no note/card attached with the flowers. Ruth ordered that they not be sent until the next Wednesday. (It is not explained why she did this) Wilson's friend Catherine Mair described this behavior as 'sticking two fingers up to her stepmother.

Around 4 pm she took a taxi and ordered to be dropped off on a bridleway a short way from the Hand in Hand pub (now named The Box Tree) on Box Hill. The taxi driver declared that Ruth displayed 'odd' behavior as when he drove away, she just stood still in the rain. This was important as people generally walk away after they have been dropped off. In other news though, the taxi driver said that Ruth appeared to be looking around as if she was waiting/looking for somebody. This was 4:30 pm, the taxi driver was the last man to see her.

Here is what Wikipedia knows: The Times newspaper, on 29 December 1995 stated: ‘Two days later ... (After the flower delivery) Police discovered three notes kept under a bush in the Box Hill undergrowth. The notes amounted to good-byes to her parents, her best friend, and a teenage boy she remembered. The notes were never published for the public.

Controversial sightings of Ruth have linked to as far as Canada. Still, a person thought to match Wilson was caught on CCTV at a newsagent's shop two miles from Box Hill, almost a year to the day after she vanished. Ruth's parents claimed in an article in 1997 that they thought the girl in the video was Ruth.

One thing that heavily stands out to me is the almost lack of a statement from Ruth's parents, shown when the parents were asked if they liked to be included in the recent documentary but they declined the request. The lack of theories or strong, result full hints is shocking.

There is little to no proof that foul play was involved or she committed suicide, according to their Family Liasion officer. He says "From the experience I have had, I would tell one of two things happened. She either went up there to meet someone and has thereafter gone away, or she went there and perished in some way."

Do you think she is alive, was killed, or committed suicide? What are your theories?
