Joshua Woodruff, an Omaha aboriginal was just 28 years old at the time of his awful death. He graduated in 2011 from Harvard University and resided in Los Angeles, California where he served as an executive for a start-up company, Soylent.

The Horrific Hit And Run Case

Woodruff could have selected to go anywhere on the earth to celebrate New Year, but he selected New Orleans, and sadly his first tour to our City cost him his life.

On Friday 1st January 2016, at 3 am after a night of celebrating New Year in the French Quarter, Woodruff stood at the side of Dumaine and Decatur Streets in the French Quarter waiting on his Uber transportation when a dark-colored 4 door sedan with tinted windows ran him over, pinning his body under the car and pushing him for over 6 miles through the French Quarter and to the General DeGaulle entry in Algiers.

After hitting Woodruff, the sedan turned onto Madison Street before drifting against traffic on Chartres Street then the car disappeared. At 3:45 am NOPD received the gruesome news of a corpse on the Westbank Expressway (Cresent City Connection) in Algiers. That corpse was Joshua Woodruff.

A little over a year later on 01/23/17 NOPD called a press conference and showed a composite drawing for a person of interest characterized as approx. 18-24 years old, short, thin build, brown to the light brown complexion, thin braids, and a green wing tattoo sketch on the left side of his neck.

As of today, 5 years have passed since Woodruff was murdered. Despite many clues and video, supervision took from over 50 cameras throughout the French Quarter, the New Orleans Police Department has been unable to solve the case.

On January 1, 2016, the Ole Miss Rebels met the Oklahoma State Cowboys the same day that Woodruff was murdered. Fans touring New Orleans from these states and supporting these college clubs may have seen something or even snapped a photo without knowing it while in New Orleans that captured the suspect's car.
