Miguel Restrepo has spent the past 22 years living in an abandoned sewer with his wife and their pet dog, and despite the fact that it may not appear to be much, they have made considerable repairs to make the place bearable.

Miguel and his wife Maria Garcia have built a stove, a fan, and a bed during their stay. For entertainment, they even have a television.

It's hard to imagine, but Maria Garcia and her husband Miguel Restrepo have spent the last 22 years living in a sewer.

When Maria and Miguel met in Medellin, Colombia, they were both heroin users. The area is notorious for narcotics trafficking and violence.

They have running water and electricity, as well as a kitchen. There's even a television.

They were homeless, and drug addiction was destroying their lives. They found peace in one other's companionship during this difficult period, and they resolved to stop using drugs together.

The couple, like everyone else, participates in festivities and decorates their home accordingly.

They made this sewer their home because they had no relatives or family who could provide them with shelter or financial assistance.

They were able to overcome their addictions and give their lives a new path here.

Although living in a sewer conjures up images of filth and muck, they've transformed it into a comfortable house with all of the necessities in place. They've even got electricity and a television. They also decorate their homes for festivals and holidays, just like everyone else.

The couple even has a dog called Blackie, who guards the home in their absence.
