The horrific incident involving the murder of Hong Kong model and influencer Abby Choi has sent shockwaves around the world. The 28-year-old was reported missing last Tuesday, and just two days later, parts of her dismembered body were discovered in a refrigerator in a house located in the Tai Po district of the city. According to the Independent, investigators have revealed that the crime was not committed in a sudden burst of rage. Rather, it was carefully planned weeks in advance with the intention of making her vanish without a trace.

Ms. Choi shared several pictures on her Instagram account on February 14th, featuring her posing on a balcony with the Paris skyline in the background and enjoying a meal with friends.
"From Hong Kong to the cover of L'Officiel Monaco, my journey as a style icon continues. Grateful for this recognition and the continued support along the way," she said in the post.

According to investigators, Ms. Choi's ex-husband, Alex Kwong Kong-chi, and two of his family members were allegedly planning her murder before she even returned.

As reported by the South China Morning Post (SCMP), the last sighting of Ms. Choi was at a luxurious residential complex located in the upscale Kadoorie Hill area of Ho Man Tin in Hong Kong, on Tuesday. Surveillance footage captured at the site revealed that she was picked up from the complex by her ex-brother-in-law, who was working as her driver, in a seven-seater vehicle. However, Ms. Choi went missing after leaving the complex.

To locate the missing model, Hong Kong Police mobilized a team of over 150 detectives. After scrutinizing the GPS records of the seven-seater vehicle that Ms. Choi was last seen in, the investigators narrowed their focus on the Tai Po village, eventually discovering her dismembered body parts in a refrigerator in a house located in the area.

According to SCMP, the detectives engaged in extensive door-to-door interviews in the Tai Po village and analyzed video recordings from nearby houses and vehicle dashcams, ultimately pinpointing a three-story building as the location of the crime. Upon further investigation, the officers discovered a range of tools that were allegedly used to dismember human bodies, including chainsaws, meat grinders, gloves, and masks.

The search for the missing body parts commenced, and although the legs were discovered inside a refrigerator in the apartment, the head, devoid of skin or meat, was found in a large pot along with soup and human remains. The authorities are still conducting a search for the victim's torso and hands.

According to the Independent, Alex Kwong, along with his father and elder brother, were apprehended and accused of murder. Furthermore, 63-year-old Jenny Li Sui-Heun, the man's accomplice, was charged with evidence tampering. The victim, Ms. Choi, was the oldest among three daughters of a prosperous family that operated a construction enterprise involved in transactions with mainland China.

At the age of 18, Ms. Choi married Mr. Kwong in 2012, but their marriage was brief and ended in divorce in 2016. The couple had two children, and their oldest son is now approaching 10 years of age. Prior to her tragic demise, Ms. Choi was romantically involved with Tam Chuk Kwan, the proprietor of a chain of restaurants.

Despite the divorce, Ms. Choi sustained amicable relations with Mr. Kwong's family. As per the Independent, she purchased an opulent four-bedroom apartment measuring 1,820 square feet in the prestigious Kadoorie Hill neighborhood of Hong Kong for the family and her two children. Moreover, Ms. Choi assisted her former brother-in-law in acquiring another residence.
