The Eaton Police Department is asking for help finding a missing 14-year-old from Delaware County.

Scottie Dean Morris is described as a 14-year-old white male, according to a Silver Alert issued by Indiana State Police. He is 5’4″ tall, weighs approximately 150 pounds and has brown hair and blue eyes.

According to the Silver Alert, Morris was last seen wearing black shoes, red and black shorts and a white T-shirt with writing on the front. He was last seen around 8:30 p.m. on Thursday in Eaton.

Several people in the community have stepped in to help the search.

“I can’t even describe the emotion it gives you when you see a community come together like this. We have had probably 300 volunteers,” said Eaton Chief of Police Jay Turner.

Despite the cold temperatures, volunteers have been walking several miles in order to help with the efforts.

The search for the 14-year-old who went missing on Sunday, March 19, is still ongoing, as confirmed by the Eaton Police Department. Infrared camera-equipped helicopters from the ISP are being utilized in the search.

“We ask that if you continue to search on your own today, please refrain from wooded areas, tree lines, rivers, etc. as this will only hinder the investigation while they’re in the air searching,” reads the statement posted on the Eaton Police Department’s Facebook page.

According to the Silver Alert issued by ISP, Morris is suspected to be in  danger and might be in need of medical attention.

The Eaton Police Department is requesting anyone who has information regarding Scottie Dean Morris to contact them at (765) 396-3297 or to call 911 immediately. Turner, a spokesperson for the department, stated that their main priority is to locate Morris and ensure his safety. He urged anyone who knows anything about Morris' whereabouts to come forward and help them in their efforts.
