Yesica Martínez was a devoted wife and mother to a one-year-old daughter. Her family had been tirelessly searching for her since Friday until their efforts came to a devastating end on Sunday morning.

According to Adriana Diaz, Martinez's sister, she was an extraordinary individual who deserved much better than the tragic fate that befell her.

There are many unknowns surrounding the 25-year-old’s death.

"We have seen her body laying in that ditch over there," Martinez’s brother, Dario Manzo, said. "I tried to ask questions. Nobody had answers for me."

On Thursday evening, Yesica Martinez began her new job as a waitress. However, she never made it back home after messaging her husband, Mario Morales, during her commute. The next day, her SUV was discovered wrecked along Woodall Rogers Freeway, but there was no sign of Martinez.

"This is just a dream. I’m going to wake up and she’s going to come home and we’re going to be happy," Morales said.

At approximately 1 a.m., the Dallas County Sheriff's Department received a 911 call reporting the crash. According to Martinez's family, they were informed that during the call, Martinez was heard engaged in a heated argument with a man. However, they also reported that Martinez could be heard pleading for assistance. "Despite the argument, she was asking for help," Manzo, a family member, stated.

As per Martinez's relatives, her glasses and cell phone were discovered inside her damaged SUV.

"She can’t see without her glasses. There was no reason for her to be like, ‘Oh, let me set my glasses down so I can walk around blind.’ That’s just not logical for her to do," Diaz said.

"And we told them, given the circumstances of what happened, we didn’t believe she just left," Morales said.

On Sunday, the family of Yesica Martinez discovered her deceased body behind a fence that required the intervention of first responders to access. The fence was situated beneath the North Stemmons Freeway, in the southbound service road, and was positioned across several lanes from where her car had crashed.

According to the Dallas Police Department, Martinez's death is currently being investigated as an unexplained incident.

"It seems like a nightmare," Diaz said.

Her family has questions for law enforcement.

"What did they know? What did they do?" Manzo said.

And they know someone out there knows what happened.

"Any information helps," Manzo added.

"She was the one I went to for everything, even though she was my little sister," Diaz said of her sister.
