Court documents reveal that an Avon man allegedly admitted to abusing his 2-month-old son and confessing that he wanted to “inflict pain back” on the child due to the baby pulling his nose ring and being loud while he had a migraine.

Aaron Evans, aged 19, is charged with two Level 3 felonies, one for causing battery resulting in serious bodily injury and the other for neglecting a dependent resulting in serious injury.

As of Monday, the 2-month-old child of Evans is still in critical condition at the ICU unit of Riley's Children's Hospital.

According to court documents, the investigation into child abuse allegations was initiated by the police when the 2-month-old infant was taken to an Avon hospital on Monday morning. The baby had multiple bruises on their body and a healing cut on the head, as per the documents.

Later, after being shifted to Riley Children's Hospital, doctors reported to the authorities that the baby had sustained rib fractures, leg fractures, subdural hemorrhage, and numerous contusions. Additionally, the medical examination also revealed evidence of previous subdural hemorrhages.

As per the court documents, it was concluded that the injuries suffered by the infant were due to physical abuse, and none of them were deemed to be accidental or medical in nature.

The police interviewed the mother of the child and a roommate who shared the same house as the couple. According to the police, both the mother and the roommate disclosed that Evans had anger problems and would often get easily frustrated with the infant.

Eventually, the police also had a conversation with Evans, who apparently acknowledged having significant anger issues. During the discussion, Evans reportedly admitted to physically abusing the 2-month-old infant on multiple occasions. He confessed to dropping the child forcefully into the car seat and intentionally dropping the infant from his arms to the floor.

According to the court documents, Evans supposedly accepted to have punched the baby in the leg and committed other abusive acts. When asked about the reason behind such actions, Evans reportedly attributed it to having a migraine and wanting the child to stop crying. He also stated being angry at the infant for pulling his nose ring and wanting to retaliate by causing pain to the child.

Following his interrogation with the police on Monday, Evans was taken into custody and transferred to the Hendricks County Jail.

If found guilty, Evans could potentially be sentenced to imprisonment ranging from three to 16 years.
