According to WalesOnline, authorities have officially confirmed the identity of the body as 19-year-old Tom Moreton. Tom had been reported missing after vanishing near a popular nightclub, and now the police have verified that the body found in the River Usk in Newport is indeed his.

After the teenager was last spotted in the vicinity of Vibez nightclub in Newport city center, concerns for his well-being began to mount. These worries escalated further when he went missing, prompting an intensive search effort.

The public was urged to remain vigilant and assist in locating James, who was last observed wearing a black t-shirt, black shorts, and grey Nike trainers featuring a green tick. Described as approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall with a slender physique, any information regarding his whereabouts was greatly appreciated.

 

In a tragic and heart-wrenching update, Gwent Police have announced that the lifeless body of a man was discovered in the River Usk in Newport on Sunday, June 25, at approximately 6:15 p.m. This somber development has left the community deeply saddened.

 

“Formal identification has taken place and the man was identified as Tom Moreton, 19, of Cwmbran who was reported as missing to us on Sunday 25 June."
