Two men have been charged with murder for the 2015 killing of David Wise in Marion, Indiana. The Grant County Prosecutor filed the charges, and one of the suspects, Darzell Jones, aged 40, has been arrested and is now in jail. He is facing charges of murder and conspiracy to commit murder.

Terrence Fetz, aged 32, is accused of being an accomplice in the murder of David Wise in 2015. He has a warrant out for his arrest. The Marion Police Department stated that Fetz is currently in prison at the Indiana Department of Corrections Westville facility. He faces the same charges of murder and conspiracy to commit murder as Darzell Jones.

David Wise was discovered dead from a gunshot wound near the Rails to Trails walkway at around 3:30 p.m. on January 3, 2015. A post-mortem examination revealed that Wise had been shot in the neck.

Based on court records, detectives conducted interviews with multiple people over the course of eight years. These individuals shared similar accounts, stating that Terrence Fetz had allegedly paid Darzell Jones to carry out the murder of David Wise.

During an interview in February 2019, a man informed investigators that Darzell Jones had visited his house on the night of the murder. According to court documents, Jones allegedly revealed to the man that Terrence Fetz had offered him $1,500 to kill David Wise. Jones stated that he accepted the offer because he "needed the money."

Jones further explained to the man that Fetz desired Wise's death because Wise had supposedly set fire to Fetz's brother's car.

According to court documents, the man informed the police that after Darzell Jones left his home that night, he later returned and revealed that he had killed Wise. Jones then contacted Terrence Fetz to inform him of Wise's death. However, Fetz expressed disbelief regarding the news.

The man stated to investigators that Fetz insisted on seeing Wise's body before paying Jones the agreed amount. Consequently, Jones picked up Fetz and brought him to the location of the crime, as mentioned in the court filings.

According to court documents, Jones informed the man that Fetz provided him with the gun to carry out the murder. After the interview, the man underwent a polygraph test and successfully passed it.

In a subsequent interview over a year later, another witness told investigators that he had been informed multiple times that Jones was responsible for the murder. This witness stated that Jones had mentioned being able to make a girl "disappear" like he did with Wise, for a sum of $7,500. The details are mentioned in the court filings.

The second witness mentioned also underwent a polygraph test and successfully passed.

The reason behind the charges being filed in this case remains unclear. The most recent interviews described in the court documents were conducted in 2020. However, investigators stated that the complete case file contains additional details and explored "other avenues" during the investigation.

The investigator emphasized that the provided summary does not encompass the entire case and is solely focused on the involvement of Terrence Fetz and Darzell Jones.
