A Texas mother who appeared to launch a GoFundMe to raise money after the death of her infant son has now been charged with his murder.

Amarillo police say in a release that they were called to a home on Nov. 6 with a report of an unresponsive infant, Jackson Knight Blackmon, who was later pronounced dead.

After an autopsy, police say it became apparent that further investigation was needed. The 7-month-old infant’s mother, Angel Varner, 20, was subsequently arrested and charged with murder, the department says.

Before she was arrested, Varner seems to have started a GoFundMe to raise money for the funeral expenses, according to a report from ABC 7 News

"We are raising money for the funeral, memorial, and cremation of mine and Sean's baby boy," Varner appeared to write in the description, according to ABC 7. "He was the light of our life and soon we will know what happened."

The fundraiser has since been deleted. In a statement shared with PEOPLE, a spokesperson for GoFundMe confirmed the fundraiser was taken down.

“The fundraiser has been removed from the platform and all donors have been refunded,” the statement says. “The organizer did not receive any of the funds raised.”

Citing court documents, ABC 7 News and News Channel 10 report the child died from blunt force trauma.

Varner is currently in custody at Potter County Jail. It is not immediately clear if she has entered a plea or retained an attorney.
