It has been nearly seven years since Abby Lynn Patterson disappeared from Lumberton, North Carolina. Last seen on Tuesday, September 5, 2017, her family and friends maintain hope and persist in their efforts to find her.
Abby had connections to Bladen County, where she attended church. One fellow church member expressed a shared sentiment, saying,
"I feel like she is still out there somewhere, and we just need to find her."
Abby's mother, Samantha Lovette, emphasized the ongoing involvement of law enforcement, stating,
"The FBI and detectives are currently active in Abby’s missing case, but I’m very active in it also."
"We are trying to keep her name and face out there,"
Samantha added.On Saturday, September 28, Samantha organized a door-to-door canvass on Alamac Road in Lumberton. Approximately 20 volunteers participated in the effort.
"I had a great turnout, and we handed out about 250 of Abby’s flyers,"
Samantha noted.
"I had #findabby shirts made for the ones helping canvass, and that’s also the name of the FB page I generated with a huge response."
The group convened at 11:00 am, joining hands in a circle to pray for divine assistance and protection, not only for Abby but also for others who remain missing. Samantha remarked that some residents recalled seeing Abby.
"I would like to thank all that volunteered and endured the hot and humid weather to help spread the word about our sweet Abby,"
Samantha expressed.
"I will never forget it, and I’m forever grateful to those that helped."
The FBI has featured a downloadable poster of Abby on their Most Wanted list for kidnapped/missing persons. According to the FBI report, Abby was last seen wearing brown shorts and a white shirt and getting into a brown Buick. She has not had any contact with family or friends since her disappearance.
Samantha confirmed the FBI's support in the search for Abby.
"We are planning another door-to-door canvass and other events to keep Abby’s name and her beautiful face out there... I’m not giving up,"
she stated.
A $10,000 reward is offered for information leading to Abby Lynn Patterson's whereabouts. Anyone with relevant information is urged to contact the FBI’s Charlotte Field Office at (704) 672-6100 or the Lumberton Police Department at (910) 671-3845.
