On September 24, 2002, twenty-year-old Heather Sellars was dropped off at her job at a Waffle House in Spartanburg, South Carolina, by her grandmother, Norma. Heather was carrying her work uniform and a change of clothes, planning to spend the night at her aunt's house. After her shift, Heather was picked up by her boyfriend, Jonathan Vick. They visited two local bars together, and this was the last time Heather was seen alive.
Despite extensive investigations, Heather’s case remains unresolved. In 2005, Jonathan Vick was arrested for the 1995 murder of Dana Satterfield, a salon owner in Roebuck, South Carolina, whose case was solved through DNA evidence. Vick was convicted in 2006 and sentenced to life in prison. During the investigation into Heather’s disappearance, bloodstains and blond hair, believed to belong to Heather, were found in an abandoned vehicle registered to Vick. However, the evidence was inconclusive, and Vick has not been charged in connection with Heather’s disappearance.
Vick was also considered a suspect in the disappearance of Michele Whitaker, who vanished in 2002 and worked with Heather at the same Waffle House. Unlike Heather, Michele was found alive in 2008. Despite the connections, Heather's case remains cold, and her family continues to seek answers. They believe Heather was abused by Vick, but she never reported it to the authorities.
Jonathan Vick remains the prime suspect in Heather's disappearance. Heather’s family suspects foul play, citing instances of abuse that were never reported to the police. Despite these concerns, the case has not moved forward in the years since Heather went missing.

Although Heather's case wasn't featured on "Unsolved Mysteries," it is connected to the murder of Dana Satterfield, which was featured on the show. The case was also referenced in episodes of "Forensic Files" and "On the Case with Paula Zahn," which documented Dana's murder after Vick's conviction.
When Heather didn't pick up her paycheck at the Waffle House, her family knew that something was wrong. Vick was the last person known to have seen her alive. He is considered a suspect in her disappearance. Her family claimed that she had been abused by him. However, she never reported the abuse to the police.
