Thomas Parry's abusive behavior has caused lasting physical and mental damage to Jessica Davies, who is now 23 years old.

Thomas Parry subjected Jessica Davies, 23, to such severe physical abuse that she was left covered in bruises from head to toe and wrote a farewell letter to her young son, unable to bear the thought of never seeing him again. The abuse has left her with lasting physical and emotional scars.

Despite their two-year-old son sleeping in the next room, Jessica Davies courageously recounted the brutal assaults inflicted upon her by her ex-boyfriend over the course of more than eight years. The man, who weighed 23 stone and towered over the 5ft 3in Jessica, also subjected her to controlling behavior, as reported by Wales Online.

At the age of 15, Jessica Davies entered into a relationship with Parry, whom she initially believed to be a gentle giant. However, the relationship turned toxic as Parry became increasingly controlling and launched vicious attacks on her, leaving even police officers stunned by the severity of the violence.

Jessica is determined to raise awareness about domestic abuse and help others who may be in similar situations. She speaks openly about her experience, saying: "I felt completely powerless, both physically and emotionally. At times, I even contemplated taking my own life as I believed that death was the only way out, either at his hands or my own."

She recounted the terrifying details of the thug stamping on, punching, choking and humiliating her as he warned her things "could get worse". She added:

"His words were 'I can get way way way worse'. I knew he meant it too."

The appalling photographs exhibit the severity of the bruises and wounds that Jessica Davies sustained. During the assault, Thomas Parry struck her face with his size 11 shoes while their two-year-old child, who was unwell with chickenpox, was resting in an adjacent room. Jessica was so frightened of her abuser that she created a false email account and began composing a letter to her son in the event of her death.

She added: “I really believed he was going to kill me. He was a hulk of a man. He was absolutely savage. He tried to dehumanise me in every way he could. He told me nobody could stop him. He spat on me and tipped a tin of talcum powder all over me. I was in so much pain for his beating and I begged him to let me sleep in our bed but he wouldn't allow and made me sleep on the floor like an animal."

According to Jessica, during an altercation, Thomas Parry interrogated her about her past partner's sexual activities, and she sensed that he would harm her. "He was furious and started pacing back and forth in the room. I could sense that he was about to lose control, and he did. He seized my hair and slammed my head onto the sofa," she recounted.

"My body was black and blue all over from the bruises. He hit me so hard in the face there was blood everywhere from my nose and it went all over the walls as he forced me into the shower to wash the blood away. When I saw myself in the mirror I barely recognised myself. I could barely walk and I hurt so badly. I was in absolute agony.”

In addition to his physical violence, Parry also menaced Jessica, warning that he would remove their child from her care if she spoke up about the abuse. He even encouraged her to commit suicide. "At one point, I pondered whether the only way to escape his grasp was to take my own life, assuming he didn't do it first," Jessica shared.

She continued: “I remember crawling to the bedroom to give him [son] some Calpol. I was in so much pain but I tried to stay strong for him. I also wrote letters to my little boy and told him how much I loved him - it was something I felt I had to do in case Thomas did kill me. Then I deleted it all because I knew as soon as Thomas came back he'd check my phone - all my messages and photographs.”

The courageous woman fled the house when Parry wasn't paying attention and sent the distressing photos to her family, who reported the incident to the police. "While describing the ordeal to the police, I witnessed one of the officers getting emotional - that's how severe my injuries were," she shared.

In March of this year, Parry was handed a four-year jail sentence by Cardiff Crown Court, where it was revealed that he had 14 prior convictions for offenses like common assault. He will serve half of his sentence on license.

During sentencing, Judge David Wynn Morgan remarked, "Despite being referred to as warm, kind, honorable, good-natured, patient, thoughtful, respectful, caring, and conscientious, you committed a heinous act of violence."

Jessica hopes that others in her situation can identify the warning signs she noticed in the early days of her relationship with Parry.

She explained, "We had only been together for a month when he told me I couldn't wear makeup to school and started constantly checking my phone to see who I was talking to. He isolated me from my friends and family and didn't like me being with anyone but him."

“I want other women who read my story to be able to spot the warning signs. I'm just so glad I got away from him. I know I am lucky to be alive.”
