Prosecutors revealed on Friday that a 32-year-old Ohio man, Chad Doerman, confessed to meticulously planning the murder of his three young sons. He allegedly lined them up before coldly executing them with a rifle. The tragic incident also involved the boys' mother, whom Doerman is accused of injuring. As a result, Doerman now faces charges of aggravated murder, according to authorities.

During Chad Doerman's arraignment on Friday, David Gast, the chief prosecutor of Municipal Court in Clermont County, revealed a chilling detail. According to Gast, one of Doerman's sons attempted to escape into a nearby field, but Doerman relentlessly pursued the boy and forcibly returned him to their home before carrying out the tragic act of ending his life.

At the arraignment, it was not specified whether Doerman had legal representation. However, court records indicate that his bail has been set at an astonishing $20 million. Presently, Doerman is being held in Clermont County Jail as the legal proceedings unfold.
Gast called the killings the worst crime he’d ever seen.

According to a news release from the Clermont County Sheriff's Office, deputies were dispatched to a residence in Monroe Township just before 4:30 p.m. on Thursday following the receipt of two 911 calls. One of the calls was believed to be from the distraught mother, who was heard screaming about her children being shot. The second call came from a concerned passerby who reported seeing a girl running down the street, claiming that her father was causing harm to others.

Upon arriving at the scene, the deputies discovered three young boys, aged 3, 4, and 7, outside the residence, all suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite their efforts to administer aid and save their lives, tragically, the children succumbed to their injuries on-site.

Chief prosecutor David Gast expressed the unimaginable anguish experienced by the deputies, stating, "They held these children, knowing there was nothing they could do. How do you unsee that sort of abomination?"

For privacy reasons, the names of the boys have not been disclosed at this time.

“This was the man that everyday they woke up looking to for protection, love and guidance in all things, ...” Gast said. “He was their world, he was their guardian and he executed them in cold blood.”

According to the sheriff's office, the 34-year-old mother, whose identity has not been revealed, was present outside the residence during the incident. In an act of bravery, she attempted to shield her sons from their father and ended up sustaining a gunshot wound to her hand. Emergency services promptly transported her to a hospital, where her injuries were determined to be non-life-threatening.

Chad Doerman, the accused father, was located sitting on a stoop at the home and was apprehended by authorities without resistance. On Friday, he was arraigned on three charges of aggravated murder.

Officials have not released a motive behind the shootings.

Residents in Monroe Township, situated approximately 75 miles (120 kilometers) west of Columbus, were taken aback by the tragic events that unfolded. Normally characterized by its tranquility and peacefulness, the neighborhood was disrupted as neighbors reported hearing multiple gunshots fired. The incident shattered the usual serenity of the area.

“I was sitting in the garage, and all of a sudden, I hear ‘boom, boom’ and like five more, and I was like, ‘That’s seven shots,’” Alexis Spoonamore told WLWT-TV in Cincinnati. “I’m shaking. It was a lot. It was bad.”
